The Protected Designation of Origin Cereza del Jerte certifies since 1996 the superior quality of Jerte cherries and picotas, identifying them with a Quality Seal that can be found on the boxes.
When the fruit has reached optimum ripeness for each variety, it is harvested by hand in chestnut baskets, which preserve all the freshness of the cherry.
On the sorting table at the foot of the tree, the cherries are sorted one by one according to a rigorous quality control.
One day after they have been on the tree, the authentic Jerte cherries and picotas arrive at your usual store, greengrocer’s shop or commercial surface, identified with the quality seal of our denomination.
Only the best cherries and picks from Jerte appear at the point of sale with the seal of the Protected Designation of Origin “Cereza del Jerte”.
